Avant competition prize draw terms and conditions

Introduction

  1. The promoter of the Avant Member Survey prize draw competition (the Competition) is Avant Services Co. Pty Limited (ABN 65 616 529 581) Level 6, 201 Sussex Street Sydney NSW 2000 (Avant).
  2. These terms and conditions, as updated from time to time (Terms and Conditions), govern the competition.

Who can enter

  1. To enter, you must be:
    • over 18 years of age; and
    • a registered medical practitioner
  2. Directors, management and employees of Avant and its associated entities, and immediate family members of each of these persons are ineligible to enter.

Competition dates

  1. The competition will commence at 8am AEDT Monday 20 October 2025 and close at 11:59pm AEDT Sunday 2 November 2025 (the Competition Period). 

How to enter

  1. The Competition is free to enter.
  2. To enter you must, during the Competition Period, complete the Avant Member Survey and include your name and email address to go in the draw. 
  3. Each person submitting their details and satisfying the requirements will automatically have their name entered into the Competition. Entries received outside the Competition Period will not be considered.
  4. Only one entry is permitted per person.
  5. Incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed invalid.

Prizes

  1. There are five prizes to be awarded, each consisting of a $1,000 AUD Flexi eGift Card. The total prizes pool is valued at $5,000 including GST.
  2. Each entrant can win a maximum of one prize.
  3. The prize terms are as follows:
    • The $1,000 Flexi eGift is valid for redemption 3 years from when the electronic gift card email is sent. Each retailer has their own expiry terms and conditions.
    • Flexi eGift cards are not redeemable for cash. For more terms and conditions, visit www.giftpay.com.au
    • there is no cost involved with the winners claiming their prize;
    • no bonus prizes will be awarded;
    • Avant is not liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered (even if caused by negligence) as a result of accepting and/or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law;
    • the winner should look to the manufacturer of the prize for all warranties. However, these Terms and Conditions do not exclude or limit the application of any statutory provision (including a provision of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) where to do so would contravene that statute or cause any part of these terms and conditions to be void;
    • each prize must be taken as is and no compensation will be payable if a winner that is awarded a prize is unable to use the prize as stated. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of that prize; and
    • Prizes are not variable or transferable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Avant’s decisions will be final and binding - no correspondence will be entered into. Avant accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications.

Selection of winners

  1. Prize draw will take place at approximately 10am AEDT Tuesday 4 November 2025 at the Avant office located at Level 6, Darling Park 3, 201 Sussex Street, Sydney NSW 2000. The first entry drawn at random will be awarded the prize.

Notification of winners 

  1. The winner will be notified by telephone or email within two business days of the draw and published on the Avant website avant.org.au on Thursday 6 November 2025. The prize will be delivered to the winner’s chosen Australian address or email address (as appropriate) as held in the Avant Member database.  
  2. Avant reserves the right to request verification of identity, residential address of winners and any other information relevant to the entry. Any requirements regarding verification will be at Avant’s discretion.

Unclaimed prizes

  1. If necessary, a second chance draw will be held at 10am AEDT Tuesday 10 February 2026 at the Avant office located at Level 6, Darling Park 3, 201 Sussex Street, Sydney NSW, in order to distribute prize that has not been claimed within 2 days. Winners will be notified by telephone or email within 2 days of the second chance draw and published on the Avant website at avant.org.au on Thursday 12 February 2026.

Publicity

  1. Entrants consent to the use of their image and name for promotional activities by Avant and its associated entities and acknowledge that it is a condition of taking the prize that all winners agree to promotional activities, including the use of their names and images without additional compensation.

General

  1. All entrants indemnify Avant and its Related Bodies Corporate against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the promotion, including but not limited to loss of income and personal injury.
  2. Where this competition is communicated and/or conducted via a social media platform (including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn and/or Twitter), entrants acknowledge that use of social media platforms are subject to their terms and conditions of use. The entrant is responsible and liable for the content of their entries and any other information they transmit. The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered, or associated with any social media platform. Any questions or complaints about the competition must be directed to Avant, not to any social media platform used in conjunction with the competition. Entrants acknowledge that they are providing their information to Avant and not to any social media platform.
  3. Entries remain the property of Avant and its Related Bodies Corporate. Avant is part of the Avant Mutual Group which includes Avant Mutual Group Limited and its related entities (Avant Group).  The Avant Group collects, uses and discloses your personal information to communicate with you, conduct the Competition, conduct our business (including marketing, research and providing Avant Group products and services), and to comply with the law.  This may include disclosing information to overseas entities which are not accountable under Australian privacy laws. If you don’t provide this information, we may not be able to assist you, register you for the Competition or conduct our products and services.  For more information, please read our Privacy Policy (at avant.org.au/privacy-policy) or contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@avant.org.au.  By providing your information and participating in this Competition, you confirm that you understand, acknowledge and agree to your information being collected, used and disclosed as outlined above and in accordance with the Privacy Policy including for receiving marketing from the Avant Group and overseas disclosures.  You can contact us at any time if you have any questions or wish to change your consent.
  4. Disputes concerning the Competition will be resolved by Avant at its sole discretion, acting reasonably.
  5. Avant reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time for the purposes of facilitating the continued operation of the Competition, subject to State or Territory regulation.
  6. If for any reason any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of Avant, Avant may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and invalidate any affected entries, or suspend or modify a prize, subject to State or Territory regulation.
