Our purpose
The purpose of Avant Foundation is to create transformational change in healthcare through medical research, medical education and health programs.
We have three specific objectives to:
- support research that will improve quality, safety, sustainability and professionalism in the practice of medicine
- fund programs working with medical practitioners to improve patient care and health outcomes
- help doctors overcome their experience of disadvantage in the pursuit of their medical or healthcare studies.

Grants
Avant Foundation has four funding streams:
Member Grants
Grants between $5,000 and $50,000. Open to Avant members, with a special focus on supporting early career doctors.
Transformation Grant
$1 million awarded annually to organisations to create transformational change in healthcare, with a special focus on health systems.
Research Grants
Grants to organisations up to $100,000 to advance medicine by funding excellence in quality, safety and sustainability through research, with a special focus on health systems.
Bursaries
Investing in the future of healthcare by supporting people undertaking education in medicine, with a focus on equity.
