GP suspended for falsely certifying forms to release patient’s superannuation

A GP was reprimanded and suspended after they falsely certified a patient was suffering from life-threatening obesity. The patient had asked the GP to complete a government form requesting early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds so the patient could access the money for a cosmetic liposuction procedure.
