1. Introduction 

The promoter of the ‘Avant DiT Treat Yourself With A $250 Best Restaurant Gift Card’ (“Promotion”) is Avant Mutual Group Limited (ABN 58 123 154 898) (“Avant”) of Level 6, Darling Park 3, 201 Sussex Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 (“Promoter”). These terms and conditions ("Terms and Conditions"), as updated from time to time, govern the Promotion.

2. Who can enter? 

  1. To enter, you must be:
      1. over 18 years of age; and
      2. a prospective Doctor-in-Training member member,
  2. Directors and employees of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate (as that term is defined in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) (“Related Bodies Corporate”), and immediate family members of each of these persons are ineligible to enter.

3. Promotion Dates  

The Promotion will commence at 12:01am AEST on 17 February 2025 and close at 11:59pm AEST on 30 April 2025 (the “Promotion Period”).

4. How to Enter  

  1. The Promotion is free to enter. 
  2. To enter you must: 
    1. submit or have submitted an application to become a Doctor-in-Training Avant member between 17 February 2025 and the end of the Promotion Period i.e. 30 April 2025 or; 
    2. Any applicants that applied to become a Doctor-in-Training Avant member from the 17 February 2025 until the end of the Promotion Period and satisfy the eligibility criteria are automatically entered into the draw.
  3. Each person submitting their details and satisfying the requirements will automatically have their name entered into the draw. Entries received outside the Promotion Period will not be considered.
  4. Only one entry is permitted per Avant Member. 
  5. Incomplete or illegible entries will be deemed invalid. 

5. Prizes  

  1. There are 30 prizes to be awarded, each consisting of a $250 AUD gift voucher from Best Restaurants. The total prize pool for this Promotion for each State or Territory is valued at:
    1. New South Wales: $1,750 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 7 prizes,
    2. Australian Capital Territory: $500 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 2 prizes,
    3. Victoria: $1,750 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 7 prizes,
    4. Tasmania: $500 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 2 prizes,
    5. Queensland: $1,500 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 6 prizes,
    6. South Australia: $550 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 2 prizes,
    7. Western Australia: $1,00 including GST equivalent to a maximum of 4 prizes.
  2. Each entrant can win a maximum of one prize and the prizes awarded in each State or Territory are limited to the maximum prizes listed at clause 5.1.
  3. The prize terms are as follows: 
    1. the $250 Gift Card is valid for redemption 3 years from when the electronic gift card email is sent;
    2. Best Restaurant Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash. For more terms and conditions, visit https://www.bestrestaurants.com.au/terms-conditions/.
    3. there is no cost involved with the winners claiming their prize;
    4. no bonus prizes will be awarded;
    5. Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered (even if caused by negligence) as a result of accepting and/or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law;
    6. the winner should look to the manufacturer of the prize for all warranties. However, these terms and conditions do not exclude or limit the application of any statutory provision (including a provision of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) where to do so would contravene that statute or cause any part of these terms and conditions to be void; 
    7. each prize must be taken as is and no compensation will be payable if a winner that is awarded a prize is unable to use the prize as stated. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of that prize; and
    8. Prizes are not variable or transferable. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. The Promoter’s decisions will be final and binding - no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or other communications.

6. Selection of Winners  

Prize draw will take place at 11am AEST on 12 May 2025 at the Sydney office of Avant, at Level 6, Darling Park 3, 201 Sussex Street, Sydney NSW 2000. The first 30 entries, as per clause 5.1, will be randomly drawn by random number generator will be awarded a prize.

7. Notification of Winners  

  1. Winners will be notified by telephone and email within two days of the draw (and in any event no later than 7 days of the draw) and their last name, first initial and postcode will be published on the webpage https://avant.org.au/dit2025-terms-and-conditions on 12 May 2025 (and in any event no later than 30 days after the draw).
  2. Prizes will be delivered to the winner’s email address as held in the Avant member database or as notified by the winner, as agreed between the winner and the Promoter.
  3. The Promoter reserves the right to request verification of identity, residential address of winners and any other information relevant to the entry. Any requirements regarding verification will be at the Promoter’s discretion.

8. Unclaimed Prizes  

If necessary, a second chance draw will be held at 11am AEST on 11 August 2025 at the Sydney office of Avant, at Level 6, Darling Park 3, 201 Sussex Street, Sydney NSW, in order to distribute prize that has not been claimed within 90 days. Winners will be notified by telephone and email within 2 days of the draw (and in any event no later than 7 days after the draw) and their last name, first initial and postcode will be published on the Avant website at https://avant.org.au/dit2025-terms-and-conditions within 30 days of the draw. 

9. Publicity 

Entrants acknowledge that it is a condition of taking the Prize that all winners agree to promotional activities, including the use of their names and images without additional compensation.

10. General 

  1. All entrants indemnify the Promoter and its Related Bodies Corporate against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of accepting the prize or participation in the promotion, including but not limited to loss of income and personal injury. 
  2. Entries remain the property of the Promoter and its Related Bodies Corporate. Details from entries (including personal information) may be collected and used by the Promoter for the purposes of conducting the Promotion, providing services to you (including marketing and promotion), conducting the Promoter’s business, communication to you and complying with the law. If you don’t provide this information the Promoter may not be able to register you for the prize draw or provide services to you. The Promoter may disclose your personal information to contracted service providers and its related bodies corporate as reasonably necessary to facilitate the draw. For more information on how to access or correct your personal information held or to make a complaint, please read the Promoter’s Privacy Policy or contact the Promoter’s Privacy Officer at privacy@avant.org.au. By participating in the Promotion, entrants consent to the use of their information as described. 
  3. Disputes concerning the Promotion will be resolved by the Promoter at its sole discretion, acting reasonably and with regards to the spirit of the Promotion. 
  4. The Promoter reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time for the purposes of facilitating the continued operation of the Promotion, subject to any regulatory approval required before doing do so.
