Our bursaries invest in the future of healthcare in Australia. They support people entering the medical profession or completing further education in medicine, with a focus on bringing equity to education in medicine.

Through our bursaries we aim to support those overcoming disadvantage in the pursuit of their medical or healthcare studies. We do this through multi-year partnerships with charities, universities and colleges to provide bursaries on an ongoing basis to support the full period of study for eligible students.

Our bursaries are administered through our education partners.

Other grants

Avant Foundation has three other grant programs to help fulfil our impact objectives.

Member Grants

Grants between $5,000 and $50,000. Open to Avant members, with a special focus on supporting early career doctors.

Transformation Grant

$1 million awarded annually to an institution, university or charity to create transformational change in healthcare.

Research Grants

Grants up to $100,000 to advance medicine by funding excellence in quality, safety and sustainability through research.
