As a mutual, we are wholly owned by our members, who are at the heart of everything we do.
Avant member committees
Members are represented in several ways to ensure they have a strong voice and that their interests are represented. We operate a range of formal mechanisms through which we engage with members at national and state level.
National Advocacy Stakeholder Committee
This committee advises on strategic medico-legal and associated advocacy issues where Avant can drive change on behalf of doctors. Committee members represent several different professional colleges, societies and associations.
Early Career Doctor Advisory Council
Assisting and advising Avant on issues facing DITs, assisting in establishing and executing membership strategies to support young doctors.
State Medical Committees
Provide a foundation for understanding the practice of medicine across a range of specialty groups
Avant Mutual Board
Out of the nine board members, six are elected members governing and setting the strategic direction for Avant.
Other Avant boards include Avant Insurance Limited and The Doctors' Health Fund Pty Ltd.
