Meet the team: Breana McGee, Medical Receptionist at Avant Practice Solutions

Get to know Breana McGee, a solution-focused Medical Receptionist in the Virtual Administration and Reception Services (VARS) team.

Breana McGee works in the Virtual Administration and Reception Services (VARS) team as a Medical Receptionist and Administration Assistant. She supervises and partakes in reception duties and management responsibilities, including answering incoming patient phone calls and enquiries, and booking appointments and procedures. 

She also liaises with doctors and allied health professionals on tasks such as diary management, Medicare claims and inbound/outbound correspondence.  

In 2023, Breana won a team award for answering the highest number of calls within her team. She describes herself as professional, organised and a solutionist. 

To deliver high-quality customer service, Breana’s team takes the time to understand how different practices approach patient care, their processes and the software they use. Medical software is a common challenge for practices – either a practice has expanded and the software no longer caters to the demand, or the software doesn’t have a good user experience. Breana’s knowledge of various software equips her to advise clients on how to use theirs optimally. 

Through her work, Breana can make a difference in someone’s life, especially when assisting patients who are stressed or in pain. 

She loves being a part of the VARS team because the work environment is open and inclusive, and everyone is happy to offer support when needed. 

On the weekends, Breana loves to take her two-year-old Collie X Kelpie for a walk around his favourite lake with the family before going to her local comic bookstore. She is currently loving an animated TV show called Wind Breaker
